Start Your Own Footy Rocks League

The Premier League Trophy

Starting your very own Footy Rocks League couldn't be easier!  There are two types of leagues we run on the site:

  1. Dreamer Leagues - easy to play
  2. Fantasy Leagues - for serious footy nuts

Each type of league only needs 6 players.  That's you and only 5 friends (how hard can that be?)  Players can be in as many Dreamer and/or Fantasy Leagues as they want.

NEWSFLASH - For those who don't have many friends we've introduced FOUR TEAM LEAGUES.  We also added "bye"s so now making a league is even easier!

Choose the type of league you want and get your friends to sign up on the web site.  Then you just have to send us an email with the type of league, it's name, and the names of your friends.  We'll take care of the rest for you.

Dreamer Leagues

These require no extra effort other than picking your normal Footy Rocks team each week.  Tell us who is in your league and we'll set up a draw and a ladder for you all.  Each round you pick your team as usual but your scores are compared to whoever you are playing!  You will be on a ladder and the top 4 at the end of the season play off in the finals to see who knows their footy best.  Each week you get emailed the results of your matches and the current ladder so you can quickly see how you are going.  AND because you only pick one team on Footy Rocks your team is automatically entered into the main Footy Rocks competition so you have two ways to win.

Get some friends together and start a Footy Rocks Dreamer League.  It's easy and it's fun.

Fantasy Leagues

OK, so you are a serious footy nut.  Dreamer leagues sound OK but you want more of a challenge.  Our Footy Rocks Fantasy Leagues are for you!

In the Footy Rocks Fantasy Leagues you attend a draft at the start of the year and pick a list of players from which you will have to make a team each week.  We set up the draw and the ladder for you.  You play another player in your league each week and you can only choose from the players you have drafted.  When selecting your team you can move players out of their named position for a score penalty based on the move.  Fantasy Leagues have player trading and mid-season drafts to even things up.  You will all be ranked on a ladder and the top 4 at the end of the season play off in the finals to see who knows their footy best.  Each week you get emailed the results of your matches and the current ladder so you can quickly see how you are going.

So if you reckon you know your footy then get some friends together and start a Footy Rocks Fantasy League to prove it!

Getting a draft organised is easy.  Get your friends together at work or at a pub somewhere and take it in turns picking players.  Use our player database and reports to help.  Put your picks into a spreadsheet and send them to us.

As an example, here is the spreadsheet for the Premier League competition:

Dreamteam2003draft.xls

They have 8 teams who each pick 36 players.  We recommend at least 30 players so that everybody has the most chance of fielding a team each week.  If you have more questions contact us.
